How to book Ski Lessons?

There are two ways of booking ski lessons for your ski holiday - first, in advance through the holiday company, who will probably have a special learn to ski package and secondly, wait until you arrive at your ski resort and book lessons directly with the ski school.

Book Ski Lessons with Tour Operator

Naturally this is the easiest method, you pay in advance and have it arranged for you, which means you don't have to worry about extra costs for ski lessons once you get there. Once booked though it is hard to make changes as ski schools don't like changing their schedules!!

The downside is that it is much less flexible, you will probably be booked into lessons for the entire week with a bunch of others from your tour, which is fine. It actually is a really good way to meet people.

You might find it costs more doing it this way than by going into the ski school yourself but the difference will only be slight.

Book Ski Lessons at the Ski School

There will only be one ski school operating from the ski resort - there is sure to be a ski school because there are always people wanting holiday ski classes, no matter how good you are there is always room for improvement, often very good skiers will book an instructor as a guide, so there are always people learning to ski, the main advantage of going direct is a bit more flexibility, I would suggest that 3 or 4 days group ski lessons is quite enough, a couple a private days lessons after that would be ideal.

Ski lessons in the morning is best as you then have the afternoon to do your own thing and practice what you have learnt in the mornings. Really the basics are simple, it really is just a matter of putting enough hours on the clock, so to speak.
